About Mrs. Knight

Knight

I am so happy to be teaching at Gorman for my eighth year! I received my B.A. from Pepperdine University in Communications, and my multiple subjects and special education credentials from Cal State Dominguez Hills. I also hold a clear administrative credential, and have qualified to receive my Resource Specialist authorization from Cal State Northridge.

Clearly, I am a lifelong learner, as I hope all our students to be! I began my teaching career working for the LA County Office of Education, then taught for Torrance Unified for 13 years, until we moved to the mountain communities in 2008. I spent one year at Maricopa, but leapt at the chance to come to Gorman.

My son graduated from Gorman and is currently a junior at Frazier Mountain High School. He is an FFA officer, and just received his brown belt from Los Padres Kung Fu San Soo. I'm a member of the Cuddy Valley Pony Club, and at the age of many grandmothers, learning to jump! My hubby thinks that is nuts; lol.

I love to teach, travel, cook, garden, read, and ride horses.  My family loves animals, and our current collection includes: two dogs, two horses, a donkey and five hens. We live in Pinon Pines, where I serve on the HOA board.

I love being an educator, and helping students learn and grow.  Every student is important, and has talents we should encourage. I am a huge fan of our PBIS (positive behavior intervention and support) program which encourages our community to care for and respect each other.  I look forward to a fun year with our students!
